So I figure working & alternating between three separate projects should keep the variety going enough to prevent me from getting bored and thus delaying my overall progress.
Posted below are the three projects I have bouncing around in my head, along with a tiny morsel of background. Of course, feedback is appreciated!
Orb of Divine Life:
Based on the PC RPG Titan Quest:
With the death of a power-crazed Hades at the hands of an unnamed mortal hero, mankind has proven their own strength and will to forge their own destinies in the eyes of their divine rulers of Mount Olympus. Decreeing this to be so, the almighty Zeus and other gods have departed from the mortal realms, never to intervene in their affairs again.
However, even gods can prove to be messy housecleaners, for with their departure, several artifacts of divine origins still linger behind, their powers rumored to be un-diminished by both the erosion of time and the absence of their godly creators. Such objects, known as the Forgotten Relics, are sought by many who seek gain many things through their use of divine powers, whether it be fame, gold, or to place themselves on the now-abandoned thrones of the gods.
One such relic is a true testament of Zeus own neglect, and in more ways than one. Through a strange turn of events, this relic finds it way to Lysandra, a wandering Brigand in search of the Forgotten Relics. She discovers the name of the relic, The Orb of Divine Life, and believes its finally her ticket to obtaining divine power.
But what she discovers isnt what she suspects, and the resulting journey she undertakes is without a doubt the last thing she would ever expect from gaining such a relic.
The Dorei Disaster:
Based on WoW:
*Note:
Lets hope my summary makes sense at least!
I have never played WoW. As a result, my lore in the world of Azeroth is no doubt horrendous at best; the only link I use to such lore would be the WoWWiki, and of course the feedback of others. As I progress through this story, please feel free to correct any misinterpretations on my way in regards to the lore of WoW.
The lands of Azeroth have been ravaged by war and death ever since the ancient conflict with the Burning Legion began. Still, the races inhabiting Azeroth have survived, their will to live pressing them ever forward towards survival in such a harsh and brutal world drenched with the blood of the fallen before them.
The future remains bleak as Horde & Alliance faction continue their everlasting struggle for dominance of the lands. Races of both sides can feel the ongoing wars horrifying toll on life; even more-so the more ancient-lived races have suffered from terrifying portents of possible racial extinction. Their previous lifestyles of immortality, whether it still remains or not, can no longer balance the scale of dying and newly born life.
It was then that the Alliance races of the Draenei and Night Elves combined their divine and primal might to form fertility magics and concoctions that would ensure the survival of their species. This grand undertaking eventually found its way to the ears of the races of the Horde, which took such news with mixed reactions.
One such side saw its purest intent as the assured continuation of life, and in a shocking turn of events, several joint efforts began to form between factions, combining their prowess to develop this newly developed power known as Gravia Magic.
However, old war-wounds still fester and ache within hearts tainted with hatred and pride. Such hearts belonged to those on both factions, who saw this undertaking as nothing more than a means to increase the other sides chance of victory over the other.
Those with the intent of sabotage weaved their way into this new joint effort, but Gravia Magic proved to be a wily foe, and its response to danger leads to a surprising turn of events known as The Dorei Disaster, an event that may rival The Plague of Undeath on the magnitude of life, though on a completely polar opposite level
G-Phaaze:
Based on Metriod Prime Trilogy:
Planet Phaaze, like any other living being, was implanted with the need to procreate; to spread its existence to the farthest reaches of the galaxies. In order to achieve this, it launched massive wormhole creating meteors, known as Leviathans, from its core to spread its Phazon energy across the galaxy.
Thanks to the actions of intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran, the sentient planet Phaaze was destroyed, preventing the galaxy-wide spread of Phazon corruption.
Or so, that was the thought.
The galaxy is a very large place. Many places are still uncharted, and many worlds and their inhabited races are still unknown. Because of this, the chances of an undocumented Leviathan reaching such an unknown place is, unfortunately, higher than one would hope.
However, it is the Galactic Federations belief that all Leviathans were linked with Phaaze, and its destruction ensured the destruction of all linked Leviathans. After all, no other documented reports of Phazon corruption had occurred after Phaazes destruction.
This hypothesis is somewhat correct, but the linked nature of the Leviathans and Planet Phaaze worked both ways. Sensing its impending doom was imminent at the hands of Samus, Phaaze send a signal in its final hours to its entire remaining spawn of Leviathan children.
Enter GF exploration team GF-ET52, many years after the destruction of Planet Phaaze. Commandeering the space vessel dubbed New Horizons, the teams objection is to explore the unknown corners of the galaxies in an effort to make diplomatic contact with new life.
The teams primary objective bring them to an uncharted planet that was once seemingly teeming with life, but is now utterly devoid of it. Construction of a highly advanced race is found to have once dwelled there, and many discoveries hint at highly specialized biological experiments that have once taken place.
What is more odd are the cryptic messages left everywhere that states the same phrase, over and over.
Destroy this planet.
Exploration team GF-ET52 is unsure what to make of this message, until they discover its true meaning, along with what the signal Planet Phaaze sent to its spawn entailed.
It was to ensure survival.
And to breed.

My body pose mock-ups are looking fair enough, but the finer detail quality is making me urk. However, I can't go too overboard on the detailing as it makes animation more tasking and choppy.
Hopefully I'll find a balance with the aid of yourself and others!
